DAA Formulations for Swallowing Difficulties Updated

Thursday 07 March 2024

Our guidance for administering DAAs to patients with swallowing difficulties has been updated to include sofosbuvir/velpatasvir (EpclusaⓇ) granules. The granules can be mixed with non-acidic soft food or taken directly into the mouth and swallowed with or without water. Patients are advised to swallow without chewing to avoid the bitter taste.

The DAA Formulations for Swallowing Difficulties prescribing resource can be found under the Prescribing and Dosing Guidance section on the Prescribing Resources page.
